Happy Easter!!

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter! We had a great weekend filled with sunshine (yet still cold) and lots of Easter egg hunts….on Saturday we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at the park with Avery, Hunter and Grant. Little did we know that it was going to be a mad dash of parents taking all of the eggs before the little kids could get any for themselves. As you can see from the pics it was a beautiful day but still quite chilly….Kaitlyn was insistent on putting her hat and gloves on before leaving the house – what have I done to this poor child :) On Sunday we went to church and meet up with our best pal, Avery, and Betsy and Dave for brunch and a little private Easter egg hunt at the U of M Diag so the girls were sure to get some eggs this time :)
Not too much else to report these days – the housing news is that there’s no news :( Keep your fingers crossed that the nice weather, hopefully coming soon, brings more buyers or I’m going to start stressing here pretty soon. Anyways, hope everyone has a great week!

Testing out my two new pair of shades with Dadda... she was hilarious running all over the house with them on and saying "boo' when she took them off.

Ready for the Easter Egg Hunt, Momma....

Comparing baskets with Avery...
Not so sure about this bunny guy....
Brunch on Sunday ... coloring with Avery.... such good girls :)

Look what the Easter Bunny brought me - hurray for Mickey!!

NOLA!!

We just got back from a GREAT trip to NOLA for Aunt Lindsey's engagement party and LOTS of fun with everyone!! Kaitlyn and I flew down on Thursday and came back Tuesday night and Brad was able to make a quick trip from Friday night to Sunday. We had a blast watching Pops boil 300 lbs (yes, 300!!) of crawfish, seeing lots of family and friends, playing soccer outside, blowing bubbles, and entertaining EVERYONE with our silly tricks!! Here are LOTS of pics from the long weekend....Enjoy!

Pops and all of his helpers with the 6 pots of crawfish...

Jax and Rhett helped Kaitlyn figure out the bubbles. They are my best friends from high school (Jen's) adorable little boys.

Playing soccer with Dadda on the golf course...

Kaitlyn and Aunt Geralyn...

Looking pretty...

Boy has life changed since the 4th grade when we all met.... Jen and Kell are my best friends from home with whom I shared countless memories and good times in high school... life's a bit different these days with Jen's boys (Jax,4, and Rhett, 3) Kelly's little girls (Kate and Lilly, 8 wks) and Kaitlyn in our lives. Hopefully these little guys won't ever hear the stories of their Momma's escapades back in the day :)

Aunt Lindsey, "Bride-To-Be", and Kaitlyn...

Aunt Lindsey and the lucky guy, "Uncle" Alan...

The whole gang getting some yummy Mexican food....

Pops sure makes a good "horsey"...

Kaitlyn had a ball imitating everything Lindsey did...

Kaitlyn was all about whispering "secrets"...

And then cracking up laughing as her audience egged her on...
Playing with Bebe in the bird bath...

And in the yard with the tree branch... it sure was funny!!

Beep... beep!!

Girls' Weekend - Austin!!

This past weekend I meet up with my three best friends from college, Christina, Alison and Kathryn in Austin, TX. We had a wonderful weekend of catching up and much needed relaxation. Thanks to Alison's in-laws, we stayed at their beautiful house on Lake Travis and down the street from a wondeful spa (Lakeway Spa and Resort). In between lots of laughter and several beverages, we spent the weekend getting a massage, shopping, soaking up sunshine, eating great food, and playing with Ali's new puppy, Molly! It was the perfect weekend with three people that I miss dearly. I wish we could all live in the same city forever! I miss you girls tons already!!! Thank you for a WONDERFUL weekend! Can't wait to do it again!

Christina's quite the Michigan State fan... needless to say she was pretty proud of her team on Sunday :)

Kaitlyn and Brad had a great "dadda / daughter" weekend including lots of fun in the tub!

We're all headed to NOLA tomorrow for my sister's engagement party / crawfish boil so we'll have plenty of pics from that when we get back next week! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

18 Months!!!

Believe it or not, Kaitlyn turned 18 months on Sunday! She had her 18 month check up today and all is well. Still a little peanut at 18 lbs 14 oz but bursting with energy more and more everyday.
I can't believe how quickly time flies...the past 18 months have been such a blessing for both Brad and I. Everyday brings a new discovery, a new challenge, new laughter, a new smile, and best of all, never ending love. It's pretty amazing to look into Kaitlyn's eyes and see the world from her view - so simple and filled with so much love and happiness. The way the sight of a "clock" or "truck" can brighten her eyes is so incredible. I thought I would miss being at work but the past three months of being at home with her has made me realize that I wouldn't trade our morning breakfast, trips to storytime at the library, trips to the park, playdates, or afternoons of puzzles and books for anything in the world. I'm not sure what gets me more - hearing her whisper "Dadda" when we hear the garage door and seeing her eyes light up when she sees Brad or seeing Brad's heart melt with every hug and kiss from his little girl :) We're looking forward to many more memories and smiles in the months / years to come!!

Just a sneak peak at a Dadda / daughter weekend coming up this weekend. I'm headed down to Austin to meet up with my three best friends from college and Kaitlyn and Dadda are home alone :) I'm going to miss them SO, SO much but definitely looking forward to a relaxing weekend with the girls on the lake and at the spa!

Play, play, play!!

We've had lots of playdates this week/ weekend and I finally remembered to stick my camera in the bag!! Not sure the last time I stepped foot in a Chuck e Cheese but last Thurday we did it :) Betsy and I took the girls there for a little change of scenary and probably every germ and bug in town. I think it took awhile to warm up to the signing mouse on the stage but think they had fun. This morning my good friend, Katie, had all of the girls (including toodlers, babies and babies in bellies) over for breakfast. It was a bit scarey to look around the room and realize how quickly life changes when I realized that the kiddos almost out numbered the ladies :) The weather is finally looking up and we're excited to go outside after naptime to enjoy the 40 degree sunshine today - woo hoo!!

This was only half the crew from this morning and it was nearly impossible to get a pic with everyone looking so here's the best I could do :)

Kaitlyn and Avery were changing their babies diapers...if only they could figure out how to change their own diapers!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
